The Village of Brightwaters is seeking a Public Works Laborer
Responsible for the performing a variety of construction and maintenance activities as needed. Candidate should have 3 – 5 years of experience in performing manual labor activities. Experience should include road maintenance, park maintenance, signage, drainage repairs, canal repair work, snow plowing, grass cutting and tree trimming. Carpentry skills are a plus. Must be able to operate power tools and equipment such as mowers, chain saws, compressors, etc. Candidate must have New York State CDL class B license with airbrake endorsement to operate Village fleet which includes pick-up trucks, back hoe, dump trucks, salt spreaders, snow plows, etc. Incoming Salary $22.67 per hour (increases annually) plus exceptional health benefits. The Inc. Village of Brightwaters is seeking Code Enforcement Officer
Seeking qualified applicants to patrol the Village (approximately 2.2 square miles) and issue tickets for parking infractions and notice of violations for failing to conform to Village code. This is shift work of no more than 8 hours per shift and coverage is 24/7. A Village car is provided as well as a uniform. Candidates must have a valid New York State driver's license, High School Diploma and be in good physical condition. Security Guard, prior code enforcement, law enforcement or similar experience is preferred. Candidates with Suffolk County Civil Service accreditation as Code Enforcement Officer is a plus but not required.
Shifts available: Every Saturday, Sunday and Monday: 4 p.m.-12 a.m.

VOLUNTEERS / COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS
Attention Brightwaters Junior Residents
We are looking to recruit energetic, enthusiastic teens (ages 12-18) to volunteer their time and effort towards their community. Volunteer events will arise throughout the spring and summer months, and we are hoping to call upon our Junior Residents to assist.
Each time that a volunteer lends their time and skills to help at an event, they will receive a certificate documenting their community service hours.
